Weekly Weigh-In: Another 3.8 lbs Lost, 70.4 lbs Total

Weekly Weigh-in 3.8 lbs lostI. Am. On. Fire. I’ve lost another 3.8 lbs this week. That brings my total weight lost to 70.4 lbs. SEVENTY!!!! That’s crazy. I now weigh 277.6 lbs. I have 30 more pounds to lose to reach my next major goal of 248 lbs. At that point I will see where I am at and what my new goals will be. I will also have reached the 100 lb weight loss goal at that point.

Here is the ever impressive weight loss chart:

This past week was a tough one. I didn’t work out as much or as intensely as I normally like to, so I decided it would be my down week. I’ve been hitting it hard for a few weeks and my body was begging me to chill out, so I did. Monday was a big day as I did 100 burpees, then I took off Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday was a light, I did 6 sets of chin ups and push ups then called it a day. On Friday I was way too exhausted to work out and decided to just take it off. On Saturday I picked it up a little and went for a 2 hour walk sprinkled in with some 2 minute jogs. Later in the day I did a few sets of burpees. Sunday was another long walk, this time with the family. We went for a walk on a trail near our house and did a quick set of burpees just to get my heart pumping.

I was afraid I wouldn’t lose any weight for my weigh-in, but I did. I need to get it out of my head that I need to push my self to exhaustion every workout. That’s a no-no and it’s slowly being ingrained in my noggin.

Another reason I thought I had plateaued was because of Olive Garden’s Tour of Italy dish. On Friday night we went out to celebrate my wife’s new job and certification. After a bunch of years she finally achieved passing her exam to become certified in her profession. How she does it I don’t know. She puts up with my BS, raises my daughter, is a great mom and wife, works, exercises with me, and the list goes on. She has managed to fit getting certified into her schedule and I wanted her to celebrate that. She is a major reason for me being able to stay on track.

So we went to eat out have her customary Margarita. I hate those things, but she loves them. I had a Tour of Italy…all of it!!! It was so damn good. I kind felt gluttonous and guilty, but decided to just move on and make up for it over the weekend. Which I did. I hadn’t eaten that much in a while and my body was reacting negatively to it. My sides were hurting, I was taking dumps left and right, and I felt tired. So over the weekend I ate fruits, veggies, and protein. Nothing processed. By Sunday night I was feeling better, but man I won’t be doing that again.

So why did I do it? I wanted to test how I felt afterward. I wanted to see if I could recover from something like that. In the past I couldn’t. In the past I would not be blogging about what happened at Olive Garden. I’d just be all depressed and eating my depression away telling myself that I’ll get back on track in a week, only to have months go by before I got my act together. Was it worth it? Hell yes!

I’ve come a long way and it’s starting to show in all aspects, not just physically. Speaking of which…stay tuned for a very unleashing video this week.

You’re on a roll! Keep on feeding that fat burning fire!

  3. Hey Israel!

That’s great man! It is kind of funny but by taking a break you are probably helping your weight loss but mixing things up. I’ve found that to be the case sometimes. It is great for the R&R too.

Sounds like you and your wife have this weight loss thing whipped. I mean you both are seemingly supporting each other and you are both succeeding (congrats to her on her cert).

I really enjoy checking out your progress and hearing about eating out now and then – helps me not beat myself up about it.

    • John, I’m just trying to live a regular life. In life we have our days when we just want to go where everybody knows your name, and their always glad you came….oh wait my bad.

Got lost in a Cheers moment. But yeah, in life we have our eat out or eat dessert days. It’s okay, to me. Now there are some folks that simply cant handle that and decide to restrict themselves 100% all the time. I won’t be doing that.

  4. Nice! Keep up the great work.

  5. Congratulations. That’s a good loss for only one week.

Is, I’m so glad that you had the “Tour of Italy” and all the symptoms that you had. Once you are eating less and then all of a sudden eat more than you have been, your body will let you know.

I’ve experienced ALL of those symptoms that you did, and more than once or twice. I did the same thing you did, picked up and moved on remember the suffering I went through. When you’re gluttony no longer is enjoyable, you run to the fruit, veggies, and protein.

So glad that you are allowing yourself to “learn” from this process … keep up the great work!

    • Thank, I won’t be ODing like that for a loooong time. I felt horrible inside. Like physically ill. I felt like my appendix was hurting…but I got it removed almost 2 years ago. That’s how bad it was.

It’s inspiring to see someone make this much progress. I’ve lost just a bit under 50 pounds and have a LONG way to go.

i know what you mean about it showing in all aspects not just physically. I am feeling so much better about myself.

When using fruits and vegetable sin your smoothies, you use the entire fruit. This means you also consume the pulp of the fruit or vegetable, which is a good source of fiber for your body. Fiber is responsible for that full feeling you get after drinking a glass of smoothie. It’s also good for your body because it helps digestion and supports your body’s waste elimination process.
