Yes I do agree, people see eating food as a pleasure. We as humans look for pleasure to ease the pain. Depression causes pain, so therefore we use food as the pleasure to counteract. But food, drugs, and even TV are only short term feeling of pleasure, that lead to long term feeling of pain. But if those people could find pleasure in being fit and healthy, if they choose the short term pain of working out and eating healthy, then they would find real long term pleasure. Thank you for reading, Be Blessed.

Thank you Torrey, and nice to meet you. You know, sometimes it can be difficult to get others to see the importance. But we must be the example, and that's exactly what your doing. Thank you for reading, Be Blessed.

back in the caveman days we would go 14 days at a time without eating and then we would gorge ourselves on wild boar or whatever.

Unfortantely now we live in an age of abundance and food is everywhere and thar part of the brain has not gone away.

I wouldn't say it's hand in hand, but I get your point. I love to eat food because I love food.

Over-eating goes hand in hand with depression. They eat because they are depressed, then they get even more depressed when they put on weight. It's a vicious cycle.

Frank,

I really get your post. I work extremely hard to ensure that my family's quality time consists of as much physical activity as dinner, watching movies, etc.

I have a family member who gets depressed and relies on eating to feel better. I hope that people like this will understand the importance of physical and mental health to live a long and prosperous life.
