Introducing A Former Fat Man

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Frank Cruz a former fat man who’s almost completely unleashed. Those cold chains of confinement are weakening little by little. I have been tied down and boxed in for many years. Consumed with exaggerated amounts of food, my stomach was a lot like a bottomless pit. I had an appetite that could not be satisfied. Growing up I was a pretty confident guy, I never had a problem getting the girl I wanted in high school. Although I was always heavy set, I carried my weight well. But after getting married and having my son, I swelled up faster then a hot air balloon.

Frank Cruz Weight Loss Before and After Pics

Four years ago I stepped on the scale, and was blown away as I glared down in suspense to see the shocking number 298. What a disappointment, how could I have let it get this far? From that day forth I was on a mission to lose this weight. In 5 months I dropped 70lbs just in time for my sister’s wedding, and I was the topic of everyone’s conversation. I was loving life, and I was proud of myself. Then I got comfortable, and within a year. I gained it all back.

After being fed up with myself I attempted to lose the weight again. In 3 months I lost 40lbs, then 5 months later put it back on. Then 3 months I lost 30lbs, then in 4 months later I put it all back on. Are you noticing the pattern here? You see every time I dropped a significant amount of weight I got comfortable again, and then I got fat again.

On January 1st, 2009 I decided to make a real change and I mean, mind, body, and soul. Something switched deep in my subconscious; I was like a new man. I no longer saw myself as a fat guy because I was capable of doing things fat guys couldn’t do. When I set goals I meet them each time, whether it was my weight on the scale, or the amount of sets I did in the gym. I was simply becoming mind over body, I felt like rocky training alone in the mountains. Each time I set a goal and completed, I felt as if I had beaten myself, my old self, my fat self, and my mind would gain a little more control over my body once again. That’s when the real change began, when my mind and soul won the battle over my body.

Today I invite you to join me on a mission to transform our lives completely. This is truly a difficult task, but one that can be accomplished. The date that I write this is June 14, 2009 and I have lost a total of 80lbs. If you were to add the amount of fat I have burned off my body in the last four years it would add up to 220lbs!!! I know how to do this; I have the road map to success!! Come and join me, and you too can be UNLEASHED.

  1. Excellent work, really well done. You must feel so proud of yourself. Inspiration for others out there, that you can actually go out there and actually lose the weight if you really want to. Well done

Hows it going? Im 30 yrs old 272 pds and out of shape. I was wondering if you could tell me where to find a good workout online? Thanks

        • Frank CruzNo Gravatar says:

Well I used to do a lot of TaeBo, although it’s kinda out dated it’s a great calorie burner. As of right now I just started using P90X, which is awesome! However if you’re not used to working out, I would suggested using Power 90 which is the beginner version. Just be ready to work hard!! If you’re more interested in loosing weight you gotta work on your diet. Exercise will only assist in weight loss, but 70% of it is based on how you eat.

  3. MuataNo Gravatar says:

Great post! Very inspiring and informative. Frank’s journey shows that losing large amounts of weight quickly isn’t the most effective way to lose if you want to maintain the lost fat …

    • Frank CruzNo Gravatar says:

Yes, I agree with Muata. I believe the only way for us to lose the weight and keep it off, is to never stop. I believe we must make this apart of our lives!! I don’t know about you guys but my body seems as if it was made to store fat. LOL!! I can’t even look at junk food without adding on some pounds of pure fat. So this had to become my lifestyle, and should be the same for anyone going on this journey. Muata you are a great inspiration for all of us!!! I would love to work together with you on this fight against obesity. We all need to unite and change the course that this country is headed. We can do this!!! And we will, one person at a time until we reach the world. Be Blessed.

You’re before and after pics are incredible. You took years off with your weight loss. Very inspiring!

  6. PriscillaNo Gravatar says:

Wow..I cannot believe the difference. Looking at your body in both pictures it is extremely evident that you didn’t just lose wieght but you have toned your body.

You are an inspiration to all of us “Oprah Competitors” who gain wieght and lose wieght as fast as she does, if not faster. I too have gone up and down for the past 8 years of my life, but hearing your story has kicked me in the butt a little. You mention joinging you on your journey…does that mean you can give me the same work out plan that you followed?? Your tips to sticking with it?? Would love to find out….thanks so much and congratulations to you!

    • Frank CruzNo Gravatar says:

Great Post. I have always had a similar problem. losing weight and meeting goals is not hard….keep it off and living a balance life is something I have failed at over and over again.

    • Frank CruzNo Gravatar says:

Nice to meet you Mike and I would like to thank you personally for reading my post. You are definitely right in what you said. Keeping the weight off is a challenge. But I believe maintaining weight is a much easier task then losing weight. The problem is people think that once they’ve lost the weight and reached there goal, then that means there finished. That is the reason people fall in the category of a yo-yo dieter. We have to understand that this is a journey for a LIFETIME, but I promise when you reach your goal it’s much easier to maintain it, then it is to gain it, and try to lose it all over again. Thank you for reading and Be Blessed.
