Ive been looking for plus size clothing for my brother, and it can be really difficult to find. I've shopped here before for him, and he was really happy with the fit. Ive used a couple of sites that are great including this one and ohbigmanclothing.com both have been great.

I really like the store. I bought a camp chair from them a couple of years ago. And, yes, it was a lot more expensive than a regular camp chair (you know the kind that folds up). However, I have the security of knowing that THIS camp chair is not going to collapse under my weight.

The design and materials have to be superior quality so that it will not fall apart under my weight. However, even when it comes to, say, just a larger towel, their prices are higher.

Why? The answer is quite simple -- for a "normal" size towel, the manufacturing process is standard and they make thousands or maybe even millions that are the same size. However, for specialty sizes they only make a few.

It's not a matter of fairness. It is simple economics.

I'm just glad that they are out there making products that allow those of us who are larger to live normal lives.

We can either remain large and live normal lives or live normal lives while we get smaller. But either way, we have options that would not otherwise be available.

I ordered a dining room chair from Living XL around a month ago. The chair was expensive, and the back scratcher I impulsively ordered with it turned out to be backordered (and still hasn't come), but the chair was good and I was satisfied. Shortly afterwards, the pneumatic mechanism on the desk chair I had been using for 15 years broke down, and I decided to order a replacement from Living XL. It was due to arrive in 7-10 business days. It didn't arrive, and the website claimed that it would be shipped on October 6, which came and went with no update. Now, the website describes the chair as "Out of stock", although curiously enough, Living XL is still sending out emails advertising this very same chair.

Finally, I called customer service, and the person I spoke to admitted that the chair wouldn't be sent until November. When I asked why it took Living XL's computer system two weeks to figure out that my item was not in stock--and why they didn't have the minimal courtesy to notify me of this fact--I was told that their computer systems were "slow". I asked, politely, to speak to the supervisor. I was put on hold, and then, after a few minutes, the call mysteriously disconnected. Needless to say, they lost a customer. It doesn't matter what their products are like: with this kind of customer service, they're not going to last long.

Hi! I am so glad I found this website. My husband and Father are plus size along with myself. Clothing is so hard to find for plus size people and as someone mentioned most Americans are overweight!!! I was so frustrated that I left my profession and opened a PLUS SIZE Consignment store. I am the only one in my city that is exclusively for plus sizes. Right now I am all womens clothing but mens clothing is on its way hopefully. I have so many customers thanking me for doing this. Plus size people have been neglected in the fashion industry and my goal is to change that. I did an interview in the local paper a few months back and explained our frustrations. Plus size people thanked me and I think I opened alot of "average" size peoples eyes as to what we actually go through. We pay more than the "average" size person for things, and that is if we can even find them to fit us. It is ashame in this country so many things are accepted and adapted for, except the larger person.

LivingXL is a good site for larger people but their products are REALLY EXPENSIVE. I can find the exact same things usually for quite a bit less. Maybe I'm out of step, but to me size acceptance also means not being overcharged for things made for my size.

Excellent website for me to introduce it to my family member's..My dad and sis are larger in size so they usually have difficulty finding the outfits that suit them.

Nice link you've got there. Most store don't have what we're looking for (weird considering a large percentage of American's are rather large). Been looking for a decent garden chair

awesome. It is amazing how many American's are overweight, but how little big and tall stores there are available. Great idea with the furniture for bigger people.
