The Power of the Mind

“Where I am today, is where my mind put me, and where I’ll be tomorrow, is where my mind will put me.”

If your reading this blog it is probably safe to say that you are trying to lose weight, or in one way or another you want to change your body. If that is you, then the first thing you must do in order to make a lasting change to your body is; you must change your mind, and you must change your way of thinking. In my opinion, we should all strive to be in complete control of ourselves and our lives. If that is what you desire then you must understand the steps necessary to get there.

In order to take control of your life, you must first take control of yourself. In order to take control of yourself, you must first take control of your body. In order to take control of your body, you must first take control of your mind, and to take control of your mind, you must first change your way of thinking. When you think about yourself, or your life, or your family, or anything in your environment, do you think as a pessimist, or as an optimist?

When you wake up in the morning what are the first thoughts in your head? Do you dread the idea of peeling yourself off that comfortable warm mattress of yours? Do you get exhausted just thinking about the exhaustion you’ll encounter once you get in to work? Do you think about the bills you can’t pay, the money you don’t have, the car that’s in the shop, the economy that’s going down the drain, the world that’s coming to an end? When you look in the mirror to put on your clothes, do you think about how fat you are, how your clothes don’t fit, or how out of shape you’ve become? Remember this “Where ever your thoughts lie, YOU, will be there lying next to them.”

“You are what you eat,” have you ever heard that saying before? Well I believe it’s more like “You are what you think.” It’s seems like the norm for of us to think of the negative in our lives. But then how is it that we could possibly expect anything positive to come our way? If you look in your mirror and think to yourself “I’m so fat!” Well I hate to tell you but, that’s probably not going to change, unless your way of thinking changes.

We need to see ourselves as that slim and lean person. We need to visualize us fitting into those tight clothes. We need to act as if we are already that Man or that Woman that we so desire to be. When you look in the mirror instead of thinking to yourself “I’m so fat,” think to yourself “I’m not that fat guy any more, this is a new me, and I am becoming the person that I was meant to be.”

When you step out of your house you need to be the new you. You need to get excited because you are a new person, and I guarantee people will notice the difference in you right away, and so will you. The mind is by far the most powerful muscle in the human body, hands down. However, a lot of us seem to be naive in this matter, and don’t really understand how much of an impact our thought process has on our bodies and on our quality of life. So my challenge to you all today is to change your way of thinking, and soon, you to can tap into the power of your mind.

  1. We are in complete control of our minds. If we want to stay fit or loose some extra weight, then we have to change the way we think and focus more on what we want with our body.

    • It’s extremely mental. Why do you think people regain all the weight they lost? Some times over 100 lbs or more. I know it’s been mental for me since I ‘ve been on a rollerscoaster for years with this weight thing.

Hey man, you already know my story. I’ve been a yoyo dieter for four years! But once I learned that it’s all in your head, thats when things really changed for me. Thanks for reading Be Blessed.

That’s exactly right Harry. However, I believe that we all have the ability to be in complete control, but the majority of us do not operate at our fullest capabilities. This is a very difficult thing to do, and it’s not to say that I am operating at my fullest, or that I expect you or anyone else to. What I am saying is, strive to be at your fullest, and if you see yourself there mentally, soon you will see yourself there physically. Thank you for reading Be Blessed.

Mind is really powerful muscle, but it`s not so simple to master it. Though hypnosis may help or any other mind “development” techniques.

    • Frank CruzNo Gravatar says:

Yes I agree with you, no one could ever fully master their mind. As I said earlier, strive to be at your fullest. Thank you for reading Be Blessed.

I loved it! All the negatives mentioned here are similar to the way I think. Now I’ve got an inspiration, thanks Frank, I put that into practice right away 🙂

I agree. We are in control of ourselves, but sometimes its difficult to inforce that control and stop ourselves from doing something or motivate ourselves to do something. I think that it helps to wake up in the morning with a smile and think that you want to go to bed proud that day–being proud means sticking to your plans. If you can go to bed proud, you’ll be happier and chances are you’ll be healthier too.

Controlling our self is a great thing but I feel it is quiet difficult. The article is very useful, thanks for the posting.

  11. Be it weight loss or whatsoever a human being wants, it certainly is possible, but it takes efforts and will power. As you rightly put it Frank, “taking control of oneself” is very important.

  12. mind control is one way of reducing many sins. if you could control the mind, then , you can conquer the world…

  13. CarlosJEddahNo Gravatar says:

    That’s awesome 😀

  14. You mind controls your actions, liek any type of success – weight loss, finance, career, its abot your mentality. If you can’t think like a successful person, that is efficient for your goals, odds are against you!

  15. AshleyNo Gravatar says:

    Wow, amazing analogy.

  16. Our mind is where everything starts. The phrase “It’s all in the mind” is true in every way. If an obese guy wanted to lose weight, he can. We’ve seen a lot of obese people get great resuls right?
It’s all starts in what you decide.
You can cope up with anything and even stress if you just know how to tweak your mind.
Great article! You really know what you’ve written.
