Tipping the Scales: 8 lbs. Lost this Week

8 lbs lost this week, 41 lbs in totalI DID IT!! I reached my goal of 8 lbs lost this week. I was so happy to have done it. Happy enough to be eating some Italian sausages for dinner as a reward. Last week was a rough one, but I got it done. I haven’t had a high number like this in a while (and I am not planning on them anymore). I think incorporating those intense multi-joint exercises are working. I am sore as heck after doing only 2 sessions. Body parts are hurting that haven’t hurt me in a while. It feels awesome!

I have decided to keep my goals in check. I’m going to strive for more realistic numbers like 2 lbs and 3 lbs lost in a week. Having lost 8 lbs feels great. That still may leave me short of my 299 lbs by November 1st, but that’s okay with me. I am a bit closer to my goals now. I wouldn’t mind being 299 lbs come November, but it may have to wait until middle or late end of the month. If my numbers hold true as they have so far, I should be at around 304 lbs to 305 lbs by next week’s weight-in. Falling a little short isn’t that bad.

So far since beginning my fat loss journey I have lost a total of 41 lbs. Not too shabby. I have lost a total of 13 lbs so far in October, which makes it a good month in my book. It’s actually starting to show physically. I am noticing changes and can’t wait to take my monthly pictures on November 5th. Maybe by then I will be under 300 lbs? Who knows? All I know is that I will have trained some more and kept on track.

remember this 8 doesn’t mean that you can chill out and relax, but should be seen as a motivator, you aimed at 2-4 and dropped 8.
Imagine what you could achieve if you aimed for 8?

ps. You should introduce a margin of error to your final goal, plus minus x lbs to make it more realistic πŸ˜€

I’m most impressed. Congratulations! It’s good to see you not aiming for these kinds of numbers every time. Two or three pounds a week is more than respectable. Keep up the great work!

  3. Very impressive!!!
those are some great results. Now if I could only keep myself away from sweets.

  4. Hi Israel, congratulations!

8 pounds is a really big loss, I’ve only lost that much in the first week when I’m dropping retained water. I do have to agree with SK, that 2-3 pounds a week is awesome. πŸ˜‰

Please, I do want to mention one tip….you wrote that you were, “Happy enough to be eating some Italian sausages for dinner as a reward”. To keep that weight off that you’ve worked so hard at, what about making a list of non-food rewards for yourself? Like each week that you lose 2 pounds, or for each 5 pound loss, you get a new pair of running shoes, a new video game, a book, whatever floats your boat. Doesn’t have to be expensive, just something you like. That way you’re getting away from using food as a reward or as anything other than what it is – fuel. Of course you want to eat food that tastes good, too, but when you use it as entertainment, for a reward, for emotions, to relieve stress, etc., you can easily get back into those habits that helped you gain weight, know what I mean? πŸ™‚

Keep on keepin’ on Israel, you’re really doing awesome. I bet that you’re feeling just great!

you make a good point there. the thing is we have one meal a week that we let our selves indulge in. this week it was turkey italian sausage. i wasnt bad so it was fine. but i will take your advice on that and see what i come up with.

Great job Israel! I agree with JoLynn though – find some non-food rewards.

  6. Congratulations on your continued loss of weight. I have a lot of overweight people in my family and i have been around 50 pounds overweight for 8 years. I try desperately to lose it through exercise but nothing seems to work. Your stories act as extra motivation. Keep up the good work.

Of course I can only say congratulations, 8lbs in a week is a month time if it was 2lbs per week, but it’s good to see you’re aiming for 2-3 a week, you’ve got time on your side.

Congrats on the 41 Lbs lost and the 8Lbs this week is amazing.

Glad to see that your ok with not hitting that 299 mark by the 1st. You have nothing to get discouraged about, what’s an extra week or 2 in the grand scheme of things anyway right?
