Weekly Weigh-In: 3.6 lbs Lost

Weekly Weigh-in 3.6 lbs lost

I lost 3.6 lbs after another week of wondering if I would lose any weight at all. I went through the past 7 days thinking that I would be regaining all the weight I’ve lost to date. Why do I think that way? I think it’s because I am new territory. I’ve never lost this much weight or weighed this low while making a full blown effort to lose weight. In the past, I’d workout, play football, and eat whatever the hell I wanted. Now I can’t do that. So it’s been a whole new road for me. I suppose I’m a little scared of yo-yoing back to the 300 lbs. YIKES!

This brings my weight to 284. 8 lbs and my total loss to 63.2 lbs. That’s quite an accomplishment. I did some math and calculated that so far this year I’ve loss a little over 30 lbs. There’s the yo-yo effect for ya.

When I say that I’ve been uncertain about my weighing in, it has nothing to do with not eating right or exercising. I do both. I know that what I am doing works, because the numbers show and my body shows it. I’m wearing clothes I haven’t worn in years and I’m doing things I haven’t done in a long time.

I am definitely getting stronger. Just yesterday I did 4 sets of 5 assisted chin ups. A couple of weeks ago I could only do 3 assisted chin ups for my first set, followed by sets of 2. If it weren’t for my Iron Woody Fitness bands, I’d be stuck waiting to do chin ups until I lose more weight. Then there was the whole 105 burpees I did the other day. So, I know it’s working. I just need to convince myself that as long as I keep doing the right things that I will reach my goals.

Seems like another mental issue thing. Maybe it’s the scale? I dunno. If any of you weight loss maintainers our there have any advice, please share. Because like I said, I am in new territory and it is a little scary.

The weight loss chart is looking pretty impressive now. I’m close to my end of July goal of being in the 270s. I can’t wait to be in the 250s! Then I will only be 25 to 30 lbs away from my maintenance-weight goal!

I’ve been eating pretty decent, except for last Monday when I had a celebratory chocolate cake and mint chocolate chip ice cream dessert. Damn was that good!!! No worries folks, I made up for it during the week and didn’t hold on to any negative, self loathing feelings. It was well planned and thought of in advance, just like tonight’s dessert has been. Jejeje.

Until next week’s weigh-in…Peace!

Hey, Israel, it’s Jackson. Glad to hear you’re doing well in your continuing weight loss. I actually joined Weight Watchers myself in May, and I’ve lost 30 pounds on their program. You’re doing great! Don’t get discouraged. It is kinda scary. I’m weighing less than I have in years. And the worry is always in the back of my mind, “Well, I gained this much weight once, what’s to keep me from doing it again?” I’ve learned to just take each day as it comes. Do the best I can for myself with my food choices and exercise, and, slowly but surely, it will make a difference.
