This week on The Biggest Loser the whole group was challenged by some mind games. Last week you remember that the contestants were split up where one team member stayed and the other went home. The group that went home didn’t have the luxury of just kicking back while the teammate that stayed had to workout. No, each one had to work hard at home because there was a chance that they get back after 30 days. You could see right away that some took this as a very important part of the experience and decided to get busy right away. Others when home and fell into the same trap even while the cameras were still rolling.
The Temptation
The group that stayed ran into a temptation the very next day. They were offered $25,000.00 to quit right now and just go home. One of the players, Joelle was almost ready to take the cash and get out of there, but thought better about it and stayed. She’s a member of Bob’s team and this week’s cameras stayed on her to show that she wasn’t a very motivated player. There are times that this show picks one of the contestants and follows them around to show their faults. Sometimes they do this to also throw the audience off, but other times they show the real loser that week.
The Challenge
The challenge this week is to paddle a kayak a quarter mile and then climb a mountain to reach their flag. The one to the top first gets immunity for the nights weigh-in. The black team got this last week and both members were able to stay. The green team member Tara won this week and both members at the ranch and home are safe this week. There was a nice moment where they went back to help the young guy Dan who is over 400 lbs finish the climb.
Weigh-in
You can see from the chart below that both Jerry and Dan fell below the yellow line and this was really difficult decision for the group since they both really need to be there. Each one was well-liked so they made a choice to send home the older guy since they felt that the young guy needed to stay. So Jerry was sent home this week. He lost 26 pounds when he was on the show and he looks much better and has lost 84 pounds so far.

From the actions of these past two weeks this looks to be a really different season this year. If you’ve seen the shows, who are you pulling for and why?
I would love to see Dan win. It seems very important for him to prove it to himself and other teens who are in the same position. If we can teach the younger people to take better care of themselves…..well you all know how it goes….
On the other hand, I was very surprised to see that he only lost 3 lbs this week. I would think there would be a lot more water weight to lose as most people do when they are just starting out. I dont know, maybe he gained a bunch of muscle.

That was a show last night I started crying. Yes I know I am a baby when it comes to this type of thing. I thought for sure that Joelle would be going. I don’t know why she is there her friend wanted to stay and needs to be there with her being the biggest girl ever. Joelle has her head in it for the money and I think she could care less if she loses the weight. I hope that Jerry keeps losing because he looked really good last night after getting home.
I have to say me being a girl that is 29 and needs to lose weight I am polling for them all. I would like to see Dan win and I say him because he is a big boy at 19 years old. I think him in the 100’s or low 200’s he would be so happy. I hope that his partner stops eating that junk and gets on the right horse. I want to wish all them good luck and a safe road ahead. If Ali reads this congrats on the baby.

They both grew up here. In fact, their dad did the rockwork on my fireplace 🙂 Mandy comes up and does all the girls’ hair for proms! They are such beautiful women anyhow, I just can’t wait to see them again — I bet they are stunning.

wow sounds really interesting, i’ve never actually seen the show but i’m definitely going to check it out now. if i catch up quickly enough ill come back and post about what who i’m rooting for. 🙂

I was so sad that Jerry went home and Joelle stayed. I don’t think is fully committed and she doesn’t seem to work hard at all. I HATE that, since hard work is what the show is all about.
I would like to see Dan win. I like a lot of the other contestants but it would be great to see him win and change his whole future.

Hi, I’m writing from the UK. This show sounds fascinating. Does anyone know whether it will be shown outside of the US? We get a lot of your shows, but I haven’t seen this one.
I think there are international versions, but you can always check on hulu or some nbc.com.
ok, tonight’s episode made me soooooo mad. joelle needs to go home, what were they thinking? i think the show is rigged now. the producers must have made them vote that way because there is NO WAY joelle deserves to be there. she is LAZY and doesn’t even want to be there. i can’t stand it. ugggghhhhhhhhhh!
Maybe it’s part of their strategy…
